Practice Profile
Founded in 2015, Studio Glyn has quickly established a portfolio of built projects across London, including listed buildings and buildings in sensitive conservation areas. We specialise in the refurbishment of existing buildings, including alterations, extensions and interior fit-outs. Our portfolio includes both residential and commercial projects.
We have longstanding collaborative relationships with trusted consultants and experts, including structural engineers, quantity surveyors and party wall surveyors, as well as excellent relationships with building contractors.
Josephine has a breadth of experience working in practices large and small in both the UK and Australasia. Her multidisciplinary background includes work across public, educational, commercial, retail and residential sectors. She trained in Architecture at the Royal College of Art, is a fully qualified architect and also has a degree in furniture making from The Cass School of Art. The latter has provided her with great experience in smaller-scale design and fabrication.
Design Philosophy
Key to our process is learning about our clients needs and balancing their priorities. Every architectural project requires numerous decisions, and a careful calibration of aesthetics, function and vision. Like our clients, every space has its own character and charm, and we help our clients make the design choices that will optimise these traits without imposing an in-house style.
Whatever scale your project, from small to large, architecture is a collaborative and step-by-step process. Whilst we love and care about the details of this process, we know that they’re not for everyone, and we welcome all levels of client involvement. We’re also flexible – there’s no one way to a perfect solution, and we’re ready to adapt along the way.
